Fall Tastes Like

Tonight I walked to my car in search of a bag of sunshine.  I opened the door and let the light from the house flood the pathway and stepped into the night.  I paused for a second to soak it all in and felt the cold envelope my face.  Fall is that time of the year that possesses a cozy energy representing the process of life anew.  The streets fall quiet, but if you listen hard enough, you’ll hear the cold in the air, breathe deep enough and you taste the season in your breath.

Fall, you bring good memories like first days of school, new teachers, new faces, and new clothes.  Now that I’m older and these experiences no longer apply, these cold months give me a sense of hope for the next year to come.  I am pleasantly reminded that many things start anew and every year is a new adventure.  Everything has its season, and the leaves come back to the trees eventually.

I must remember to stop and enjoy the night sometimes.

For Love Or Nothing: Promised Poems III

leaveyouapen:

What is a person to you who wants marvelous love? A person who you hear calling in the deepest parts of your heart, you are ready to answer that question with a burning passion. This person leaves you wanting and aching for a part of that life. This is what she was to me, a bad burn. She didn’t…

My father the Snowman

I was born in the winter
My father was a snowman
The heat came around and he melted

Melt
Melt
Melt

No longer snow, no longer man
He melted and disappeared
I, too young to understand

Melted

I grew older and became a woman
I kept things to remember him by
Like the two coals for his eyes
and a corncob pipe

I inherited his eyes
And see a cold world
Flames are my enemy
But beauty smolders from that coal.

The corncob pipe sits on my bed
I’ve never used it
Neither did he

I keep it because its decorative
and maybe it’ll be handy
Do snow people smoke weed?
Snow people is politically correct

At the end of the season they all disappear
I’m an all season kind of girl
I don’t want to vanish at the end of the year

I don’t want to melt

melt melt

Yeah, my Dad was made of snow
So some people think i’m cold
That my heart is made of black ice
and I’m frigid and have a fake mold

Whew
Below 32 degrees fahrenheit
That’s freezing temperature right?
I have to build up that cold exterior
I don’t wanna melt
Or have anyone disappear again
I really should stop dating snowmen

Gracious Words.: The Poets Plea

graciouswords:

Feed me your words

for I fear I am lost

Bereft of ideas

and of constructive thoughts

.

The empty page mocks me

it mirrors my mind

my pen looks uneasy

as words I can’t find

.

I make myself angry

frustrated I sit

the words still avoid me

I’m feeling like shit

.

But that doesn’t help…

I can always relate to this girl.  Her prose and poetry moves me.  Follow if graciouswords you appreciate!

Bow ties are so G

For my Best. KatreenistShe has this eye fetish for bow ties.  Nerdy cute guys with steelo, you know?  The rarest kind.
I’m indifferent if you ask me.  But not gonna lieyou’re deceived by your eyes when you peep a dude who can sport a tie
This is a bowtie, something of the past, brought to the future in the form of our class.Fashion repeats, and two people meet, they do the love dance and they shuffle their feet.
It’s hard to be together when you’re so far awayand your visits get shorter and shorter each way.It sucks to spend truckloads of money on flights.and road trips and little gifts and a view of the sights.
Sometimes things just don’t work outand it sucks and it hurts and we just wanna scream out.We wanna run from our feeling, go somewhere far. Some of us spend time thinking just driving around in our cars.
Soon you’ll feel a big space in your heart,But that just leaves room for the rest of the world to be inspired by who you are.
We struggle we grow every single dayWe blossom, stand up and say everything we wanna say.We find that courage to chase our dreamsWe grapple we interview we burst into the scenes.Settle ourselves and make a good means.
Because we’re adults and get on our grindEveryday the memory fades of when you two were bindand you find yourself slowly forgetting that find. You remember that bow tie, when you flip through the magazines. And remember when you were wrapped in its silky warm seams. What felt like love might have beenIt looked like it smelled like ityou found the one, woot, FTW!
Sometimes its not about love, or destiny.Just timing, or effort, or serendipity. The next time you find a bowtie thats worth itWrap it around your heart and make sure you keep it and hold it.

The musings of Sydney Wonder: The Secret Bandit.

sydwonder:

I met the Secret Bandit on a drizzly night in March. Smiled hello behind an ever clever heart, divided into carefully broken parts. Each part was hidden away in a small gilded cage of its own; so I ensured my dark matter would never become known.

It was one by one that he expertly pilfered my…

Follow this girl.  She is amazing for someone in her early 20s.  I feel a modern Edgar Allan Poe x Emily Dickinson born in the 90s.  I read her posts and I’m taken away, almost like a novelist she illustrates every detail without even having to describe it.

If you are a lover of poetry.  Check her out!

Blessed.  I can Achieve Nirvana.  Be spiritual, not lifeless.  Have meaning in your life.
If it’s not meaningful, make it meaningful.  You are lost, because you are lifeless.  Go out, do something and make use and purpose of your life.  Those who feel they have a purposeless life are stagnant in spirituality.  Be who you want to be.  We are young ones, and we don’t want to become ‘young once,’ even though eventually we will.  So take advantage of your youth.  Don’t realize how precious your life is when you have a midlife crisis, have an early life enlightenment!  Life is a fleeting gift, so be who you want to be and find yourself, because once you get in touch with who you are, life starts to have meaning, and you live with purpose.
Purposeful people are good people.  Sure, you can argue there are people who are purposeful crooks or purposeful terrorists with only thoughts of greed and evil brewing in themselves, but you are plain wrong.  Those people are not in touch with themselves whatsoever.  They are completely influenced by what other people want them to be, and that is where the world experiences turmoil.  Evil breeds from people who are not in touch with themselves.  So do something with your life people!
Become artists and continue to follow what you are interested and have a love for the arts.  Try not to paper chase to fund a superfluous life, paper chase to follow what you live for and who you truly are.  If who you truly are is someone who needs 75 pairs of Christian Loubitin’s,  I hope your love for fine shoe craft is something you have a true affinity in, or feel that it is an expression of yourself to the world and it makes you feel good and esteemed.  If that is you, then do you.  But don’t be afraid to do things like wearing something that someone dogged on before.  If you like what you like, be yourself.  Who cares what people say?  Have you ever had an interest in something but you thought that people might think you’re a ‘wanna-be’ or a hipster?  I hope you still fulfilled your interests by immersing yourself in whatever it is that you wanted to experience and figuring out if it was really you who you were doing it for.  If you aren’t that interested in something, do not force yourself to do things because your crew is interested in it.  It’s OKAY.
Go out and do things that will boggle your mind, challenge your decision making, and make you feel like you can change your own life any second.  Have a grip on your life and can control how you react and feel about the trials you go through.  That is real virtue, control.
